ABOUT

United Campaign Against Poverty, Inc., a non-profit organization based in Texas was founded by David and Charlene (Scott) Ogude.  Charlene Scott-Ogude manages the day-to-day operations as the organization's Executive Director and resides on the board as President of the Board.  There are currently four members serving on our Board of Directors responsible for advancing our mission. They are:

  1. Charlene Scott-Ogude, Board President & Executive Director

  2. Annette Burke, Vice-President

  3. Sadiqaa Thompson, Treasurer

  4. Elizabeth Monahan, Secretary

The purpose of the organization is the following:

​

  • Mobilize resources to help ameliorate poverty in underserved communities in the U.S. and abroad

  • Design and implement strategies to combat hunger and starvation in the U.S. and abroad

  • Work closely with charities in the U.S. and abroad to create jobs for the unemployed through agriculture, vocational skill acquisition, volunteerism, and entrepreneurship 

  • Design and implement programs specific to youth, women, and children empowerment in the U.S. and abroad, regarding food sufficiency, employment generation and health care

  • U-CAP shall establish partnerships with nongovernmental organizations abroad that may share similar goals with us
